Explain the irony of language in the novel. Holden swears all the time, yet wants to erase swearing from the school. What does this say about Holden's idea of swearing? Why does it he do it, if he knows it's wrong? How does his swearing make him feel? How does this idea tie into themes in the novel?
In the novel Holden swears a lot through the book. Then when he sees swear words on school walls he gets mad and erases it so kids wont see it. He doesn't want kids to loose there innocence. He believes swear words lead into adult hood.
